The Most Drama-Filled Moments From The 71st Annual Golden Globes Red Carpet

(PCM) The 71st annual Golden Globe Awards took place last night and when you have that many celebrities and that much alcohol, it is without a doubt going to lead to some definite drama on the red carpet. Today, as we sort through the aftermath of the year’s first big awards show, several celebrities created a little bit of controversy with some of their comments and/or actions. Hayden2First, we have the case of poor Hayden Panettiere. When asked who designed her dress for the awards show, she immediately name dropped famed designer Tom Ford. While it is true that Ford did design Panettieres’ dress, she was not specifically styled by Ford for the red carpet, meaning she purchased the dress off the rack at retail.  Oh the horror! Most celebrities that you see at the awards show are strutting down the red carpet in borrowed dresses.   The unwritten rule of awards shows is that designers approach actresses (through their stylists, often) to dress them. Panettiere totally went around that one by sporting the Tom Ford number. Ford confirmed that he ONLY dressed Naomi Watts for the evening.  Ouch! Next, there was the hilarious moment when actress Elisabeth Moss flipped off the E! mani-cam on live television. We are just shocked that it took someone this long to do it. When E! red carpet correspondent  Giuliana Rancic, asked Moss to partake in the main-cam she responded with “There’s something I wanted to do last time, but I’m not going to do it.” To which Rancic responded “Do it! C’mon, do it! This is E! We’re in 160 countries!” Moss said “You said to do it” and then proceeded to flip the camera her middle finger. Good things E!’s censors were quick enough to not allow the full flip off to air.

Then, actress Cate Blanchett and Leonardo DiCaprio had a bit of an awkward encounter on the carpet just was Blancett was finishing up her interview with E! red carpet host Ryan Seacrest. After embracing his Aviator co-star, he apologized for interrupting her chat with the E! red carpet host. While the microphones were still on Blanchett can be heard saying to DiCaprio “Don’t be! You’ll save my ass!” Guess someone wasn’t loving their time spent with Seacrest. Also, throughout the Golden Globes broadcast E! was posting up fun facts that would pop up on the screen. However, one factoid was anything but fun, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if someone didn’t lose their job. The ‘fun fact’ were obviously not well screened and when “Fun Fact: Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991” popped up on the screen, needless to say viewers were not pleased.

A few other doozies included the lovable Jennifer Lawrence photo bombing Taylor Swifts interview looking like a total creeper and Emma Thompson sprinting barefoot down the red carpet to make it into the show on-time. Definitely a carpet full of craziness.
