(PCM) The in-flight entertainment for a group of passengers on a Virgin Australia’s Flight 970 from Bisbane to Sydney was certainly memorable, as they were treated to an impromptu performance from the cast of The Lion King the Broadway musical.
The cast on board the plane were seated in the first three rows of the aircraft and shortly before take off they began singing the iconic song “Circle Of Life” which opens the musical. The performance was led by by Buyi Zama, who plays Rafiki in the production.
Disney released a statement following the performances viral rise on social media saying,
“After an amazing day at The Lion King’s Brisbane season launch announcement, members of our Australian cast felt so elated they decided to sing the Circle of Life prior to take off on their flight back to Sydney”
Passengers on-board the flight were certainly surprised and everyone appeared to be enjoying the performance treat. The clip, which was posted to a cast members YouTube account has now been viewed over 6 million times after it was reposted again by Disney on Broadway’s official YouTube account.
