(PCM) (PCM) One of the most notable landmarks and tourist hot spots in Paris, France The Eiffel Tower has been temporarily closed due to a workers’ strike. Management for the tower revealed that the CGT Union, that represents the Eiffel Tower’s nearly 300 employees, staged the walkout this morning. Sources reveal that the union and the management company are currently in negotiations over salary, profit-sharing, and various additional issues.
It is a definitely bummer for any tourists who are in the country hoping to visit the 124-year old tower within the next few days and many are certainly hopeful that the issues will be resolved quickly. The Eiffel Tower normally operates 365 days a year and only closes on the rare occasion of suicide attempts or bomb threats.
