After nearly 40 years on the air, The Price is Right has finally come to its senses and added a male model…but the lucky young man certainly had to work hard for his spot in the showcase. Rob Wilson, a 24-year-old actor from Boston, beat out hundreds of hopefuls in an online competition in which he had to showcase blenders and washing machine, in addition to other challenges like writing his own lyrics to The Price Is Right theme song.
“I used my East Coast hip-hop background to freestyle for 30 seconds and they liked it. It kind of felt a little weird – a little goofy – but it got the job done,” Wilson told People.
He will appear on the game show starting Oct. 15 for one week, but possibly longer if he has what it takes!
“As long as the people love it and people want to see more of me on the show [I would stay],” he said. “But as an actor this is just a great opportunity.”
