The Oscar winning drama “The King’s Speech” is being adapted into a Broadway show!
The play will be directed by Adrian Noble and will head to Broadway in Fall 2012. However, it will first open in the UK at the beginning of next year at the Guilford Yvonne Arnaud Theater, and then move to London’s West End in March. The film, which centers on King George VI’s struggle with stuttering was originally written as a play by David Seidler, who won the Oscar for best screenplay in February. The original cast from the movie will not return to the stage version, but casting director Gabrielle Dawes is in the process of finding actors to portray the lead roles of King George and Lionel Logue, played by Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush.
