For the first time ever, the royal splendor of Buckingham Palace can be enjoyed from your smart phone or computer by taking a virtual tour of the palace, complete with a tour guide. This was made possible by the Royal Collection Trust, a charity that manages the historic building, partnering with Google’s Expedition pioneer program,which allows teachers to take schoolchildren on guided adventures through places like a coral reef or the surface of Mars.
During the virtual tour you can learn about the rich history surrounding Buckingham Palace including it’s architecture, art work, and many various rooms including the Green Drawing Room, the White Drawing Room, the Throne Room and gorgeous Picture Gallery to name a few. You can use your mouse as a way to control your viewpoint and can get a wonderful 360 degree look at every nook and cranny. The virtual tour is just gorgeous and certainly worth about 10 minutes of your time to learn about the history and mythology behind this great structure.
