On December 20, 2009 Brittany Murphy died from what was eventually ruled as acute pneumonia and severe anemia. Only five months later on May 23, her husband, Simon Monjack, was also found dead.
The autopsy reports have confirmed that Monjack died of acute pneumonia and severe anemia. Coroners were able to rule out heart disease as a contributing factor, even though Monajck had heart related health issues in the prior months.
There were a number of legal medications found in his body as well, but none of which were at high enough amounts to be considered an overdose or multiple drug intoxication. Drugs were not listed as a contributing factor in the Monjack death, but were considered a factor in Murphy’s death.
Monjack and Murphy were both found by Murphy’s mother, Sharon, in their house. The two are buried next to each other at Los Angeles’ Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
