(PCM) First there was the freak accident on Kindga Ka when a young boy was hit in the eye by a bird, and now, a dozen people get stuck 150 feet in the air at the top of the Superman coaster?! I guess roller coasters are suppose to be scary, after all.
According to ABC News, the Superman Ultimate Fight roller coaster stopped at the top of the ride at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Northern California, leaving 12 riders stranded 150 feet in the air for nearly 2 full hours. Thankfully, they were upright and not upside down, as the ride features multiple loops and side bends.
Firefighters arrived on scene half an hour into the accident, and were lifted up in a large bucket to reach riders so they could hand out water bottles. They were also prepared to take riders down in the bucket it the ride wouldn’t restart. Luckily, it did and no one was hurt.
