RIP Bobbi Kristina Brown: Young Actress/Singer Dies at 22
(PCM) Bobbi Kristina Brown, the 22 year-old daughter of late singer/actress Whitney Houston and singer Bobby Brown, passed away on Sunday, July 26th, after being in a medically induced coma for the past six months.
The tragic news broke earlier today when the Houston family announced Brown’s passing on the official Whitney Houston Facebook page, posting a picture of Bobbi as a child with her mother and the message: “It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers. As Bobbi Kristina would say: “The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face.””
Bobbi Kristina Brown was placed into a medically induced coma after being found unresponsive in the bathtub of her Atlanta home back in January of 2015, just a few days shy of the third anniversary of her mother’s death.
Rumors quickly swirled around the young singer/actress’s condition and the circumstances of the situation, throwing suspicion on her quasi-adopted older brother/boyfriend Nick Gordon. Despite a pending lawsuit from Bobbi Kristina Brown’s conservator and an investigation into the allegations in the suit, charges have yet to be filed against Gordon.
While in a coma, various conflicting stories of Bobbi Kristina’s health made their way to the media, creating confusion around the already unknown fate of the young Brown. On June 24, five months after being put in a medically induced coma, Bobbi Kristina Brown was moved into hospice care and taken off medication, with family members gathering to spend as much time as possible with Bobbi Kristina.
The Houston family released a statement to EW on Sunday, stating: “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July 26, 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
RIP Bobbi Kristina Brown.
