Carrie Fisher, the actress who played Princess Leia in Star Wars, was recently quoted in the Australian Associated Press (via WENN) as saying she did cocaine — on Hoth.
“We did cocaine on the set of Empire, in the ice planet… I didn’t even like coke that much, it was just a case of getting on whatever train I needed to take to get high.”
Doing a “bit of ice” on the ice planet, Hoth. Going “powder for powder” with the Empire…
In all seriousness, Carrie Fisher has recently written a memoir, Wishful Drinking, where she opens up about her drinking and drug problems, particularly during the time of The Empire Strikes Back.. (See, she can appreciate a clever turn of phrase.)
This puts a whole new perspective on things. Maybe that’s why Han Solo was so hesitant to get involved — hard drugs are a deal-breaker, even for a space cowboy.
