Singing the National Anthem for the Superbowl is considered a honor, and usually only entrusted to pros to do so. When Christina Aguilera was given the task hopes were high for the vet. With not even a minute of the song behind her Aguilera completely botched the lyrics. Instead of singing “”O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.” She replaced the lyrics with “”what so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last.”
Showing her expertise, Aguilera never fumbled and plowed through the rest of the song holding an 11 second note at the end. Apparently the Dallas crowd did not take this mess up lightly. One source with a VIP view stated,”This was the biggest performance of her career and she blew it. To mess up the lyrics was a disaster.”
Honestly, we all make mistakes. Give Christina a break.
