With names like Pilot Inspektor and Spek Wildhorse, it is inevitable that some celebrity children will become the punchline to their classmates’ jokes in the future thanks to the unconventional names their parents have chosen for them.
Following in the misguided baby-naming footsteps of Beyonce and Tom Cruise, Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. recently announced the name of his newborn son, yet another bizarre celeb baby name to add to the list. Downey and his wife Susan welcomed little Exton Elias to the world on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles.
The couple has yet to reveal the reasoning behind their peculiar choice but are very happy and the baby is healthy according to a source that informed People magazine.
Seven pound, 5 ounce, baby Exton’s name is relatively normal compared to the countless other outrageous names celebrity parents have given their children.
Nicolas Cage named his son Kal-El after Superman, the man of steel. During an interview with Oprah, Gwyneth Paltrow said she and husband Chris Martin named their daugher Apple because “it sounded so sweet and it conjures up such a lovely picture.”
Rather then coming up with an actual name, David Duchovny and Tea Leoni decided to call their kid, Kyd. I don’t think the naming of your child is the most appropriate time for wordplay.
Some other interesting celeb baby names include Sage Moonblood, the son of Sylvester Stallone and Audio Science, the child of actress Shannyn Sossamon.
The strange baby name trend seems to be going strong in Hollywood but I’m guessing it will slow down after a few of these toddlers reach middle school.
