MMA Fighter Kimbo Slice Dead At Age 42

(PCM) The news has been confirmed that MMA fighter and pop culture figure Kimbo Slice has sadly passed away at the age of 42. A tweet was posted by American Top Team, a facility in Coconut Creek, Florida where Kimbo Slice trained which read “The ATT Family and South Florida Community lost a legend today. RIP KIMBO”. The news immediately began to spread through various media outlets and fans began expressing their condolences. Kimbo’s immediate cause of death has not yet been revealed, however there is some speculation that steroid usage may have been involved.  He was taken from his home in Coral Gables, FL to a hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, however there was no emergency calls made from the residence.  Authorities at this time do not suspect any foul play and do not plan any investigation into his death, as they are treating it as a medical incident. Kimbo Slice rose to fame and became a household name in the early 2000’s due to his video series the featured unsanctioned street fights and backyard brawls. Slice, whose real name Kevin Ferguson,  was born in Nassau, Bahamas, and attended the University of Miami and Bethune-Cook University. He compiled a 5-2-1 career MMA record between the UFC and Bellator and was 7-0 with six knockouts in seven professional boxing fights.
