MJ fans and aficionados with $400K to spare will be thrilled with their newest retail opportunity. The late King of Pop’s notorious red jacket from his iconic mini movie “Thriller” is soon to be auctioned off to his disciples willing to foot the bill in Beverly Hills.
In a few weeks, the autographed red coat that commemorates the ‘terror on the screen’ from Jackson’s infamously paralyzing music video will sell for $400,000 (and probably higher depending on bids from MJ enthusiasts). Julien’s Auction event on June 25 and 26 will feature more than just the red designer garment; the wig that adorned the legend’s head at his “This Is It” news conference in London, and a glove he wore at the American Music Awards will also be up for grabs. The groomed hairpiece is expected to bring in between $4,000 and $6,000, while the studded glove that once contained the musical martyr’s hand is predicted to earn between 20 and 40 grand.
The mogul’s memorabilia said to be’ ‘the most recognized and significant piece of pop culture’ will allow Jackson to live on in the hearts of fans with the finances to bear the cost.
