A Maryland girls swimming team has had its county championship title revoked due to a bizarre shaving violation committed by one of the swimmers.
The unnamed swimmer cost the team points due to improper shaving. Had the swimmer shaved only several hours earlier, the team would have still been county champions. According to the National Federation of State High School Associations, the rules say that athletes can not shave before, during, or after a meet once the team in on-site.
How the judges determined that the swimmer shaved on-site is still a mystery to me, but it must definitely be a bummer to lose a championship just because you have the smoothest legs on the team.
