Mark Zuckerberg must have hit some kind of record this weekend, receiving over one million “likes” when he surprised Facebook with a relationship status update: Married to Priscilla Chan!
According to People, the Facebook founder and CEO and his longtime girlfriend were married in a small ceremony in their Palo Alto, California backyard on Saturday. The happy couple had been planning the secret wedding for months, but kept it a surprise up until the very last minute when guests arrived thinking they were coming over for a graduation party.
Priscilla wore designer Claire Pettibone’s “Sky Between the Branches” gown, an ivory floral dress with a sheer back and chapel-length train, adorned with matte sequins lined in silk.
The small ceremony was attended by less than 100 guests who dined on family-style food from the couple’s favorite restaurants, Palo Alto Sol and Fuki Sushi. For dessert, they had Burdick Chocolate “mice” – chocolate treats made in the shape of mice, which the couple had on their first date over nine years ago.
