Perry will be hosting this year. Not only will she host, but she has also promised to perform at the show August 9, on FOX. This announcement follows Perry’s performance at the MTV movie awards last Sunday.
Perry was voted Best New Artist in 2008 by readers of Rolling Stone and Best New Act at the 2008 Europe Music Awards. More recently, she was named one of People’s “Most Beautiful People,” one of Entertainment Weekly’s “Entertainers of the Year,” one of Esquires “Women We Love,” and No. 1 on Maxim’s 2010 “Hot 100” list.

The 12th annual special will award the coveted Teen Choice Surfboard awards to Hollywood’s hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports, and fashion. The nominees for the covented Surfboard awards and Perry’s co-host will be announced at a later date.
