Actress Kate Winslet is divorcing her husband of nearly seven years, director Sam Mendes. The two tried out a trial separation last year and had a brief reconciliation, but have decided to part ways for good. Their lawyers have stated: “The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children.” Ironically, last year Mendes directed his wife in her Golden Globe-winning role in Revolutionary Road, a film about a crumbling marriage.
The couple met in 2001 and were married in 2003. They have six-year-old son, Joe, together. Winslet also has a nine-year-old daughter, Mia, from her first marriage to Jim Threapleton.
