Justin Bieber Tribute a No-Go on Glee

Contrary to many reports circulating the web (and even our own World of Pop Culture), Justin Bieber will not be taking over McKinley High. Last week word circulated that the TV series Glee would have an entire episode devoted to the music of Justin Bieber, but show co-creator Ryan Murphy has put these rumors to bed. “Those [tributes] are reserved for artists with big catalogs,” Murphy explained. In short, Bieber just doesn’t have enough songs to form an hour-long episode on his own. But all Bieber hope is not lost. Murphy does assure us that a Bieber song will appear in Glee during episode 13, entitled “Comeback,” airing later this winter. But he will only come in as “a small plot point.” Murphy elaborates, “Sam [Chord Overstreet] sings a JB song to win Quinn’s [Dianna Agron] approval.” And perhaps best of all, Sam will even don the appearance of Bieber. Yes, that means the hair.
