It looks like MTV has a situation on its hands.
The cast of Jersey Shore has gone on a strike – the reality stars are reportedly refusing to shoot additional footage for the MTV behemoth series until they get more money.
Season 2 of Jersey Shore is set to begin airing this week, but producers want to shoot new “at home” scenes for the third season while the weather is still warm. According to TMZ, however, JWoww, Ronnie, Sammi, Pauly D and Vinny told crews that they were not shooting without new contracts.
The cast currently earns about $10,000 each per episode. Meanwhile, the Jersey Shore stars believe they could earn more money by making personal appearances this summer rather than filming the show…I guess nobody told them that appearances dry up pretty quickly after you’re dropped by your network for a group of brand new guidos.
