(PCM) Hollywood is mourning the loss of “Happy Days” and “Joanie Love Chachi” actress Erin Moran who was found dead in her Indiana home at the age of 56.
Moran is best known for her role as the lovable Joanie Cunningham on the long running TV sitcom “Happy Days”. She also appeared in “Murder She Wrote”, “Desperation Boulevard” and “Celebrity Fit Club”.
According to Indiana authorities, they received a call reporting an “unresponsive female”. When EMT’s arrive on the scene they discovered Moran’s body and she was already deceased. An autopsy to determine her exact cause of death is still pending.
Moran struggled with drinking and several incidents of bizarre behavior after her “Happy Days” fame. She ended up living in an Indiana trailer park with her husband Steve Fleishmann, but it is being reported that the two were allegedly on their way to being kicked out of the trailer park and were flat broke.
Many of Moran’s “Happy Days” co-stars have expressed their condolences online. Actor/director Ron Howard tweeted “Such sad sad news. RIP Erin. I’ll always choose to remember you on our show making scenes better, getting laughs and lighting up tv screens.”
The “Fonz” himself Henry Winkler tweeted, “OH Erin… now you will finally have the peace you wanted so badly here on earth …Rest In It serenely now.. too soon”
Our sincere condolences go out to Erin Moran’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
