No, Virginia, Frosty the Snowman was not performing in the Ice Capades.
A man dressed in a Frosty the Snowman costume was arrested and removed in handcuffs
during the annual holiday parade in the Eastern Shore town of Chestertown, MD
on Saturday. He is accused of scuffling with police and kicking at a police
dog.
Chestertown police said 52-yr old Kevin Walsh, who has dressed as Frosty at
the parade for the last 10 years, got a little out of hand when a dog-handling
officer tried to escort him away from the parade after asking him to remove
his mask.
Walsh is accused of removing the head portion of the Frosty costume and hitting
the officer in the face with it. He then kicked one of the Chestertown police
dogs. Chestertown Police Chief William Dwyer noted that Walsh has a history
of run-ins with the law.
Walsh was released on his own recognizance.
