The 54-year-old stand-up comedian and TV host was honored with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today. To be more exact, she was honored with the 2,447th star.
The host of The Ellen Degeneres Show took to Twitter to announce the good news, and the address: “I’m getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today at 11 AM. Come watch me! Also, I’d love a ride home. 6270 Hollywood Blvd.”
She was very enthusiastic about having fans witness the big moment as she took to Twitter again to encourage people to come down if they could. Some fellow celebs such as Ryan Seacrest and Jimmy Kimmel made their way to Hollywood Blvd. to cheer her on.
During her speech she continued to add her famous style of humor, “It is amazing. I spent my entire career trying to conduct myself in a certain way making sure no one walks all over me only to get to a point where people are going to walk all over me. It means so much to me that everyone showed up.”
Degeneres has led an impressive career as a host and an actress. She has hosted the Academy Awards and the Primetime Emmys. Besides her funny jokes paired with great dance moves on her own show, my personal favorite Degeneres moment was on Finding Nemo when she played the voice of Dory.
Just keep swimming Ellen! Just keep swimming!
