Director Peter Berg Wants To Do The Rundown 2 With The Rock Again

rock-3     Dwayne Johnson has been the talk of the town recently. It was announced by Forbes that The Rock was the highest paid actor in Hollywood in 2016. Now Director Peter Berg is speaking out about possibly wanting to do a sequel to one of The Rock’s earliest films The Rundown. The Rundown was released in the early 2000s and starred The Rock alongside Sean William Scott, Rosario Dawson, and Christopher Walken. The film revolved around an unlikely pairing of (Johnson and Scott) who travel to the Brazilian rainforest in search of a rare statue. A ruthless warlord (Walken) and his mercenaries kidnap them and take the statue. The movie was a success with fans and critics alike. Back then The Rock had some TV experience and a minor role in The Mummy Returns, and a starring role in The Scorpion King. With the success of The Rundown it proved that The Rock could be a leading man. Now fast forward years later and director Peter Berg who directed The Rundown has expressed interest in doing a possible sequel to The Rundown. Berg who spoke at Toronto International Film Festival. Berg was out promoting his new movie Deepwater Horizon. Berg made various statements to various media outlets that his interest in making, The Rundown 2 if The Rock got a solid costar, and that solid costar’s name is Jonah Hill. Hill who has dabbled in serious melodramas as of late seems, but Hill can hit it out of the park when it comes to comedy. Hill has an endless list of comedy hits to his name. Berg believes that the Rock and Hill would have great chemistry on screen. But we will have to wait quite some time for a sequel. The Rock’s schedule seems to be on full throttle with the shooting of Baywatch, Rampage, and his hit HBO series Ballers.
