An emergency hearing was scheduled for today when reports surfaced that Lindsay Lohan’s SCRAM (Secure Continuous Alcohol Monitoring) was set off at an MTV Movie Award after-party on Sunday. The company that keeps track of her SCRAM alerted authorities that the device had gone off.
The SCRAM can be set off if it detects alcohol in sweat, or if it’s being tampered with. Lindsay was told to wear it when she didn’t appear at a mandatory court hearing last month.
Judge Marsha Revel, the judge who ordered her to wear the monitoring device and to not consume alcohol, will have to decide whether or not Lindsay was in violation of her bail agreement. If Revel judges that she was in violation, Lindsay can be sent back to jail.
Lindsay denied that she was drinking alcohol on Twitter: “My SCRAM wasn’t set off-It’s physically impossible considering I’ve nothing for it to go off — All of these false reports are absolutely wrong.”
But, there were also reports that a red light was blinking inside her boot at the party. She also explained that on Twitter: “Haha! Last night-My friend Johnny put a light up bracelet on my boots and someone asked me if my SCRAM was lighting up RED. Well it was a light up bracelet from the bathroom-regardless..paparazzi now see through black suede fringe Christian Louboutin boots? Wow!”
The company that created SCRAM explained that there is “no alarm, no indication of any kind. There’s no red light at all.”
