Baseball legend Tommy Lasorda suffered a heart attack this Monday and was rushed to a New York hospital.
The 84 year-old former baseball coach ended his coaching career in 1996 after having a heart attack and was in New York at the Major League Baseball draft representing the Los Angeles Dodgers yesterday when he suffered a second attack. People at the event knew something was wrong when Lasorda was no where to be found to announce the Dodger’s draft picks.
Lasorda pitched for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1954-1955 and for the Kansas City Athletics in 1956 before he went on to manage the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1976 to 1996.
The attack was “mild” and Lasorda is expected to be released from the hospital tomorrow and in decent health.
