President Barack Obama will return to “The View” on Thursday, July 29th in order to discuss “his administration’s accomplishments, jobs, the economy, the Gulf oil spill and family life inside the White House,” says ABC.
This episode will welcome back Barbara Walters as well, for her first appearance since she underwent open heart surgery in May. She will return full time in September.
This episode will also mark the first time a sitting president appears on daytime television talk show. Obama was also the first incumbent President to appear on late night comedy show; he appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in March 2009.
Obama has appeared on “The View” before, once in March 2008 during the primaries when he ran against Hilary Clinton and earlier, in November 2004, to promote his book “Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.” His wife, Michelle Obama, has also been on “The View” as a guest co-host in June 2008 and the vice president, Joe Biden, was just on “The View” in April.
The show will be taped on Wednesday, with the essentially the entire hour devoted to Obama’s appearance, and will air on Thursday, July 29th, at 11 AM on ABC.
