(PCM) We are deeply saddened to learn that 51-year old Lenny Robinson, best known as Baltimore Batman, was stuck and killed by a vehicle on I-70 near Hagerstown, Maryland. ┬áThe Maryland State Police report that Robinson’s Batmobile was suffering from engine trouble and Robinson had stepped out of the vehicle to check on the issues when he was fatally struck and killed by another passing car. Police go on to report on the tragic occurrence saying that Robinson’s Batmobile was partially stopped in the highway’s fast lane and that he and his vehicle were struck while he was standing in the fast lane investigating the engine trouble. A Toyota Camry struck the Batmobile and then Robinson leaving him with fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Camry was not injured and so far there have been no charges filed. Robinson was well-loved around the country, especially in his hometown of Baltimore, for donning his Batman suit and visiting with terminally ill children in local area hospitals. He also visited schools to speak about bullying issues. He also traveled the country in the Batmobile stopping at various children’s hospitals along the route to hand out Batman toys to sick children. Robinson became a national news figure and viral internet star when he was pulled over in the Batmobile wearing his full Batsuit for not having proper tags on the vehicle. Our sincere condolences go out to Robinson’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
