Amy Schumer Forces 17-Year Old Fan To Apologize For Cracking A Rather Clever Joke

(PCM) Talk about having a thin skin! Comedian Amy Schumer proved just how thin her skin really is after she (and her Twitter followers) forced 17-year old fan, Jackson Murphy, to apologize for cracking what, at least in our opinion, quite a clever joke playing on the very image that Schumer created for herself. Murphy, known as Lights Camera Jackson on Twitter, posted a selfie with himself and Schumer at the recent Critic’s Choice Awards with the rather funny caption that read “Spent the night with @AmySchumer. Certainly not the first guy to write that. #CriticsChoiceAwards”

We think Murphy’s joke is a perfect play on the character that Schumer has built for herself over the years. Anyone who has ever watched her stand-up specials or her participation in the various Comedy Central Roasts knows that she often times makes literally the very same joke at her own expense. Explain to us how Murphy’s joke was any different? On any given day it should be right up Schumer’s alley for her brand of comedy … she of all people should understand, right?

Needless to say, Schumer was not pleased and took to Twitter to reprimand Murphy for his post saying. “@LCJReviews @jondaly I get it. Cause I’m a whore? Glad I took a photo with you. Hi to your dad.”

After Schumer’s response posted her Twitter followers immediately began to attack Murphy and in the end he was forced to issue an apology which read “I truly apologize for the tweet I posted earlier. I’m not a comedian and it wasn’t funny. @amyschumer”.  To which Schumer replied “@LCJReviews that’s really okay honey. I just remember thinking you and your dad were sweet and it was a bummer to read that.”

It is truly a shame that Murphy had to apologize at all for a joke that Amy Schumer should know all too well, as she made it herself!
