(PCM) Author J.K. Rowling blew the minds of Harry Potter fans all over the world after revealing via Twitter that we have all been mispronouncing the name of Lord Voldemort, in fact even the actors starring the “Harry Potter” film franchise have been making the same mistake.
The revelation came after one Harry Potter fan tweeted “One piece of Harry Potter trivia I always forget to mention: the “t” is silent in Voldemort, according to @jk_rowling.” Rowling responded and confirmed the theory by tweeting ““… but I’m pretty sure I’m the only person who pronounces it that way.”
Fans could not believe that they had been pronouncing it wrong for all these years, however they are definitely taking Rowlings’ word for it! No need to fret too much as loyal Harry Potter fans know that Lord Voldemort’s name should probably not be spoken in the first place and perhaps they were pronouncing his name with the “t” so as not to invoke him … hmm.. food for thought!
