‘Ain’t No Homos’ Song Gets Church Death Threats

Posted on May 31, 2012

Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Greensburg, Indiana has received death threats after a video of a 3 year old boy singing a homophobic song was uploaded onto the internet.

The toddler sang the anti-gay song at his church, the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle, and was met with thunderous applause. The lyrics of the song are:

“The Bible’s right, somebody’s wrong.
The Bible’s right, somebody’s wrong.
Romans one, twenty six and twenty seven;
Ain’t no homos gonna make it to Heaven.”

Romans 1:26-27 reads: “ Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.” (NIV)

After a video of the toddler singing the song was put on the internet, the church began to receive death threats and hate mail. The threats have persisted and been serious enough to get Jeff Sangl, the Pastor of the church, to leave on vacation with his wife without telling anyone their location. The church has increased their security and moved some of their events to secret locations in response.

When asked about the video, a member of the church said “The people who are upset just don’t read the word of God. If we don’t teach the children the truth early they will never learn.”
