CelebrityMagnet Tom Murro’s New York Fashion Week Experience

That’s a wrap! CelebrityMagnet Tom Murro and Food Network Chef Chris Nirschel are done with their New York Fashion Week outings, but have one more night of models and margaritas to dish about. Tuesday of last week, The Real Housewives of New Jersey Kim Granatell went with the dynamic duos to the Sachika Twins Style 360 Fashion Show at Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan.

While mingling, the crew bumped into former Jersey Shore member Angelina Pivarnick. Pivarnick was part of the original cast for this MTV reality show until she was kicked off the first season by her boss, and then she was kicked off the second season by her housemates. Either way, it seemed Nirschel had an easy time getting along with the feisty brunette as they sent flirty texts to each other throughout the show.

Murro and the gang enjoyed the view from the front row of all the exquisite dresses worn by the beautiful models. “We then all hit the red carpet where we met up with DMX’s wife Tashera Simmons who posed for the cameras with myself, the Sachikas, Angelina Pivarnick, Kim G and Nirschel,” said Murro. “Tashera is very cool, tough on the outside and sweet on the inside.”

After the flashing lights became less frequent, they all headed to Indashio’s Spring/Summer 2012 Men’s Ready2Wear Collection at the Audi Forum location on Park Avenue around 9 PM. “We were driven by a Mandingo Tribe member name Maleek,” said Murro. “We actually snuck Maleek into the show with us since he was such a big fan. Boy was he thrilled!”

It was quite the Italian affair on Tuesday as the crew also ran into Jerseylicious star Tracy DiMarco and Mob Wives’ Renee Graziano. “I quickly showed Renee the way to the VIP where she gracefully grabbed five cocktails at one time to bring out to her friends,” commented Murro. “I was pretty impressed by her cup holding skills.” She attributes that to her profession as a cocktail waitress in her previous life. Renee offered to have everyone over to her house for dinner where her and NIrschel will have a meatball making contest. “I’m really looking forward to that,” exclaimed Murro. Ready, set, Mangia!

Kim G and Andy Cohen’s Twitter Battle!

Hell hath no fury like a housewife scorned! A celebrity “Twight” (Twitter fight) broke out last week after a few words were exchanged during the 6th Annual Made in NY Awards event at Gracie Mansion in New York City. Each year this awards show honors individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to New York City’s entertainment industry, and this night was definitely “entertaining” to say the least.

CelebrityMagnet Tom Murro made his rounds at Made in NY where he ran into the executive of Bravo programming and TV personality Andy Cohen. The two posed for a picture and started to chat about Murro’s best friend and partner-in-crime Kim Granatell, also known as Kim G on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, who couldn’t attend the event since she was at a jewelry show in Las Vegas.

“He was acting like my friend Kim G didn’t exist,” said Murro. “So I started talking about her blog on my site and all the parties we go to, and he says, ‘Kim G who? Is there really a market for Kim G?’” CelebrityMagnet defended his friend explaining she does in fact have a strong fan following. One thing we have learned from real housewives is that there will always be real drama. “I told Kim about my conversation with Andy,” said Murro. “I think I might have started something.”

A fight did actually ensue, or at least harsh words were exchanged, through Twitter at least. Kim G sent out these Tweets after her conversation with Murro: “Andy, stop being a flaming A…hole!!!” “There r birdies all around. Is there really a market for ….????” “Glad to be in Vegas dripping in “Real Diamonds” and not with Tom Murro @ Made iin NY Event with that DB A.C. JO,” “Can everyone understand initials??? Keep guessing!!” “Hey Tom get burnt by any flames tonight? Flying home with my jewels, having sweet dreams and not about u know who. Goodnight!” “if the “flaming” guilty shoe fits, then WEAR it!!!” Andy Cohen responded, “@Kimgranatell I know you of all ppl have a better sense of humor than that kim g!” Can you say #BravoBrawl?

Spike Lee, Karl Lagerfeld and Russell Simmons Attend Art Charity

CelebrityMagnet Tom Murro attended an event held by The Gordon Parks Foundation entitled The Gordon Parks Awards Dinner and Auction: Celebrating Creativity in the beginning of June at Gotham Hall in New York City, NY. The works of several artists, including those of the late American photographer and film director Gordon Parks, were on display and auctioned off for charity.

According to the foundation’s Web site, the organization was established in 2007 to preserve Gordon Parks’ creative work, continue to make it available to the public, and honor others who have contributed their lives to the arts. Honorees of the event included: photographer Karl Lagerfeld, director Spike Lee, author/educator Sir Ken Robinson, President and Editor-in-Chief Arianna Huffington, and Director of Fashion for Lincoln Center Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. The Mistress of Ceremonies was Iman and there was an entertaining performance by the Blue Man Group.

Murro got to view beautiful pieces of artwork during his time at the charity event, but also learned that Parks was the director of the 1971 film Shaft. Can you dig it? Not only did he dig that new bit of information, but the 6’1’’ Harry Winston jewelry heiress Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. “I felt a bit short in our picture,” Murro laughed.

Although it was a scorcher outside, the audience cooled down with Jumbo coconut shrimp and sliders during the cocktail hour. “I was disappointed the bar didn’t have cognac,” said Murro. He was not disappointed; however, when Spike Lee walked in and approached him to say hello.

The gentlemen reminisced about their golf course encounter with President Barack Obama. Murro had first met the President and the film director at Farm Neck Country Club on Martha’s Vineyard two summers ago. CelebrityMagnet met the President again the following August and handed him a picture of Jackie Robinson sliding into home plate in the 1955 World Series. Yogi Berra signed the picture saying, “Dear Mr. President, He was out!”

Former NY Giant Harry Carson Had His Football For Charity Stolen

N.J.’s Celebrity Magnet Tom Murro, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s” Kim Granatell, and NFL Hall of Famer Harry Carson were last seen together on January 8th at the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation fundraiser for children in Ridgewood, N.J. The retired New York Giants linebacker donated several items for the auction: a signed Hall-of-Fame mini-helmet and an autographed football, which would collectively garner the charity $450 that evening. After the auction, however, Murro and Kim G realized the signed mini-helmet Carson donated for charity was missing.

As the New Jersey housewife explained in her “Keepin’ It Real With Kim G” blog, “We looked around and couldn’t find it. Not near another item, not behind or under the table. It was gone, gone, gone. I felt really bad. Tom felt bad. Should we tell Harry Carson? What should we do? Should we ask him to sign another one? Really, what do we do?”

The two of them did not have to worry much longer about informing the former athlete of the situation, because he got wind of the incident and contacted CelebrityMagnet via email to remedy the situation. “I see that the mini helmet I donated was swiped,” wrote Carson. “I would be happy to provide a replacement.”

Murro was ecstatic to see this “Giant” offer pop up in his e-mail. According to the Giants Football blog, Murro proceeded to thank the star, explain to him further the situation of the missing item, and spoke of his suggestions for the replacement helmet. “At this point I would put it up for auction with our friends at charitybuzz.com, and donate all of the proceeds to the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation directly,” replied Murro. “I can swing by anytime you are free to pick it up.”

“Actually, if it helps the charity, I would be willing to personally deliver the item if the highest bidder is in the NY/NJ area,” Carson wrote back. He offered not only to sign another piece of memorabilia for the auction and personally deliver it to the winner, but also he insisted he donate a full-sized Giants “Throwback Replica Helmet” instead of a mini-helmet.

Murro was once again shocked by this man’s kindness and passion for the charity.

In order for fans to get a better idea of why this man’s signature is worth every penny that is paid, just look back at Carson’s career. According to his official Web site, Carson’s 13-year stint with the New York Football Giants is one of the longest tenures in club history. The indestructible former linebacker served as Team Captain for 10 of his 13 seasons including the 1986 season when the Giants defeated the Denver Broncos 39-20 in Super Bowl XXI. Rated the #1 “Inside Linebacker” in NFL history according to Pro Football Weekly, Carson was named to the All-Rookie Team after his first NFL season.

Hall of Fame Line Backer Helps Out Kids With Cancer

“He’s incredibly gracious,” said New Jersey’s Celebrity Magnet Tom Murro in response to spending some time with retired New York Giants linebacker Harry Carson. Murro, his wife Kelly, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s” Kim Granatell, and NFL Hall of Famer Harry Carson were seen attending the Emmanuel Cancer Fund for children’s Hollywood Bash in Ridgewood, on Saturday January 8th.

Kim Granatell, also known as “Kim G” from the reality show, invited her good friend Murro to this New Jersey charity event. After speaking to the program’s coordinator, Murro found out there would not be any other celebrities at the charitable event. Being a magnet of celebrities, he immediately got on the phone and reached out to his fellow Franklin Lakes neighbor Harry Carson.

Murro had met the former player only once before at a local Starbucks. This time when he spoke to Carson, the conversation was about the Emmanuel Cancer Fund. He explained how the organization’s goal is to raise emergency money for New Jersey’s children with cancer and their families by providing emotional, material, and the much-needed financial support.

“If you brought a football for their silent auction, I’m sure that would be tremendous for them,” said Murro over the phone to Carson. This would be more than just a treat for any sports fans in the audience, since each football Carson signs is quite valuable.

The guests at the event anxiously awaited Carson’s arrival. Murro spent time taking photos with Kim G for a (201) Magazines photographer. Murro asked the photographer when he planned to leave the event, and he replied, “after Harry Carson gets here.” Clearly, Carson was a highlight for all.

After attending another event in the area, Carson arrived at the ECF event with his beautiful wife Maribel, a football, a helmet, and pen in hand. There was no doubting this Hall of Famer was a former football linebacker. “I think I’m a pretty big guy, but next to him I’m like little a girl,” said Murro after posing for photos with Carson.
