And Glee, Will Always Love You!

Glee is always on top of the musical times, and they will continue to do the same for tomorrow’s Valentine’s Day episode. They will be dedicating their episode entitled, “Heart,” to Whitney Houston. As you might have heard, the adored songstress passed away this weekend.

The producers of Glee wanted to honor the 48-year-old in some way to pay respects to such a musical icon. Although they shot the episode before she passed, they are going to insert a note in the end credits to dedicate the show to her.

Oddly enough, even though the episode was made before this all happened, Amber Riley who plays Mercedez on Glee actually sings, “I Will Always Love You” tomorrow night. This is a Dolly Parton song that was made famous by Houston in the movie called The Bodyguard. E! Online reported that Riley actually met Houston this past Thursday. She was shaken up by the news of her idol passing.

In the episode, “I Will Always Love You,” will be a ballad that helps Mercedes express her feelings. But, are those the feelings for Sam or Shane? Check out the sneak peak below where we also get to meet Rachel’s dads:

Heather Morris Involved with Controversial Photo Shoot

Heather Morris, one of everyone’s favorite Glee stars, recently did a photo shoot with Tyler Shields and it’s stirring up quite the controversy. The pictures feature Morris, 24, with a black eye and, in some, an iron and its cord.

While Morris’ Glee character, Brittany, is beloved for her hysterical and often inane one-liners, this photo shoot has been causing many to question what Morris and photographer Shields were thinking doing a photo shoot that can rather easily invoke  and, as many argue, attempt to glamorize the image of domestic violence.

Shields tells E! News, “In no way were we promoting domestic violence. We wanted to do a bruised-up Barbie shoot and that’s exactly what we did!” Also telling Us Weekly that, “our shoot poses a lot of questions, but just like in real life, Heather is definitely not a victim. More like a really liberated woman.”

Many are leaving comments on Shields’ site showing their disapproval of the shoot and executive director for the Denver-based National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Rita Smith, shares their sentiment. “I don’t know if Tyler is aware but I’m quite sure there are plenty of women who have been abused by these kinds of household appliances and children as well being hit with electrical cords,” Smith said. “I’m not sure what the purpose is other than shock value.”

So, the question remains: has Shields gone too far? The question, though, is nothing new for the photographer who was also involved in a controversy just recently with his photo shoot with Lindsay Lohan covered in blood. More pictures of his shoot with Morris can be found at his official site.

Chris Colfer From Glee Signs A Two-Book Deal

Chris Colfer who plays the lovable Kurt Hummel on Fox’s hit show Glee signed a two-book deal. Things are moving on up for this musical buff. He plays a main character for a popular TV series, just turned 21-years-old, won a Golden Globe for his role as Kurt, and can now add “author” to his resume. We should also mention that he was recently named Time’s 100 Most Influential People.

The deal he signed is with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.  The first book is slated to debut in Summer 2012 and was written for children between the ages of 8 to 12. The book is entitled The Land of Stories and chronicles the adventures of two twins who enjoy a world of fairytale. As many stories written in 2011, the fairy tales are infused with a modern twist. The second book of his two-part deal will sequel The Land of Stories, but has yet to be titled.

“When I was 10 years old, I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to write this book, I would jump at the chance,” Colfer tells The Hollywood Reporter. “This book has been at the core of my imagination for a long time and I’m excited and nervous to share it.”

According to PopEater.Com, “it was recently announced that he’s penning a Disney Channel pilot based on the children’s book ‘The Little Leftover Witch’ by Florence Laughlin. But that’s not all. Colfer is also writing ‘Struck By Lightening,’ an independent feature film in which he would also star.”

Watch out Ryan Murphy, Colfer might want to start writing and directing future Glee episodes. Let’s hope if he gets to, Kurt can deliver some major Slushie-facials to all the McKinley high jocks!
