THR Exclusive: Joan Rivers: Charlie Sheen ‘Has No Act, He Has Two Bimbo Sluts’

The host of E!’s “Fashion Police,” WE’s “Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?” lets loose on the “Torpedo of Truth” tour, red carpet etiquette and last night television.

The Hollywood Reporter: What’s the biggest change to the red carpet since you got into the business?

Joan Rivers: It’s completely different. We were asked originally to do a red carpet show and [daughter] Melissa and I both said we don’t want to do it anymore.

THR: Why?

Rivers: You can’t have any fun. In the old days a lot of star wore their own clothes and that was fun. Kim Basinger made her dress. Demi Moore wore bicycle shorts. Sharon Stone wore a t-shirt. Now it’s all controlled. There’s a PR person right behind you and if you said something negative about Nicole Kidman’s dress last year then you’re not going to get Tom Cruise this year because they share a publicist. So who the f*** needs it? I have better things to then stand and say, ‘don’t you look beautiful.’ Fashion Police is perfect because you get to say what you think.

THR: Have the reactions remained the same over the year?

Rivers: I think they’re finally getting it. It’s okay that we say, ‘Halle Barry looked stupid in that dress. She could look so much better.’ It doesn’t matter. As Melissa says, it’s almost a badge of honor to be mentioned. If they don’t know who you are then they’re not going to talk about you.

THR: There’s something to be said for all press is good press.

Rivers: You don’t believe that? Look at Charlie Sheen. And Martha Stewart came out of jail bigger than ever. All press is good press.

THR: You bring up Charlie Sheen. What do you think of the tour?

Sheen Gets A New Look

Toronto-born artist, Celeste Gillis, specializes in portraiture and captured Snooki’s poof and The Situation’s abs perfectly in her most recent paintings. After successfully transforming these self-acclaimed “Guidos” into artwork, she was given a new “Winning” task: paint Charlie Sheen!

Gillis started receiving lots of media exposure after accusing Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino for breaking copyright laws. Back in December, she transformed the images of “Jersey Shore’s” Snooki and The Situation into acrylic works of art. Snooki’s father Andy Polizzi took the professional route and purchased the Princess of Pouhgkeepsie’s self-portrait from Gillis for his daughter’s birthday.

The Sitch was interested in his painting as well and asked Gillis if she was giving it to him or trying to sell it. She offered him the painting for the cost of a few tanning sessions, or a mention of her Web site on his Facebook page. Without hearing back from the “Situation” she saw her image on his Facebook page with no credit given to the artist; he did what he does best… committed the robbery.

The actual painting of “The Man, The Myth, The Legend,” was sent to her new publicist, CelebrityMagnet Tom Murro, to thank him for all of his help. Murro will soon auction off the man with “Rambo Abs” for his favorite charity.

Murro told Celeste that she needed a good follow up to the Jersey Shore paintings and that is when the masterpiece “High on Sheen” came to be. This socially relevant portrait with bright red and blue hues comes at a perfect time in the entertainment world. Recently, not one news outlet can go a day without mentioning this 45-year-old Two and a Half Men star. “Celeste’s stunning portrait has captured Charlie Sheen as he is today, a fallen and troubled star at odds with the world,” said Murro.

Being the son of famous actor Martin Sheen and brother to Emilio Estevez, Carlos Irwin Estevez, known by his stage name of Charlie Sheen, has become the highest paid TV star to date. But, has all that money and family fame gone too far? Well, the tabloids and media outlets would agree that is the case. From his several failed marriages, manic 9-1-1 calls, anger management classes, rehab visits and drug problems Sheen has had a tumultuous lifestyle. He has always been the out-of-control rebel, but his recent drug and alcohol scandals, porn star girlfriends, and allegations of violence have put him under the microscope.

“People say I’m so arrogant but I’m just speaking the truth. You ride this cosmic mercury surfboard down the face of a tsunami and tell me you don’t feel b***in’. This is the dream,” said Sheen during his interview with the UK newspaper The Sun. He has made it clear he has no regrets for his extreme lifestyle.

Gillis managed to capture this rebellious “Sheen” look in her painting, which she completed in record time and sent to Murro, who spoke to Sheen’s agent yesterday and arranged to have his painting shipped to Charlie next week. Hopefully the painting will soon be hanging in his new $7.5 million mansion. Murro has also spoken to a producer from the Wendy Williams’ Show who wants one for Wendy, himself and the staff. It seems this Canadian artist is creating quite a reputation for herself.

Most celebrities can easily check into private alcohol and drug addiction treatment centers if they need help. Sadly, not too many of them do that.

As far as “High on Sheen” goes, let’s hope the real actor gets down from his “high” horse soon. As he said in his 20/20 interview, “Yeah, I am on a drug it’s called Charlie Sheen.” Gillis’ painting captured the ‘Winning’ essence of Charlie Sheen… high on himself!

The New How To: Become Famous

Newsweek recently published an article titled Charlie Sheen is Winning where the author illustrates the modern day celebrity versus famous influences from the past. The article sparked an interest with me to ask the question, “what makes people famous?”

Granted we’re dealing with talent, but talent is everywhere and the original “wow” factor now consists of duel personalities, attending events in eggs, and border line insanity. Society today has placed the spotlight on eccentric characters whose lives are more of a show that we just can’t stop watching. Granted, we love a good rags to riches story, or watching a hero fall, but there seems to be a rise in unimaginable, bizarre personalities that are raw and leave the audience at the edge of their seat.

Look at Nikki Minaj and her first album. Although she took some criticism for stealing Lil Kims identity, Minaj added her own style, and an extra personality to her music for a sound unlike any other. Her duel personalities can easily be identified throughout the music, saying what ever she wants to say with no filter or second thought.

Lady Gaga, do I even need to make my case? Her music videos and attire blows people away and she could care less. Her outspoken beliefs in the LGBT community and in her “little monsters” is a message to society that we can be ourselves no matter what culture says. From contracts to interviews she does not care how others label her (honestly, how can you label her?), and that confidence makes her spontaneous enough to leave us wanting more.

Charlie Sheen is a bit of a different story. Media is dealing with an addict whether they know it or not, but what reels us into his every move? Maybe because he may qualify for insanity. Maybe it is the fact that he has no filter or discretion for anyone around him. We think we’re watching an actor’s career collapse, but in reality this publicity works more as the highest point of popularity that Sheen will ever achieve.

So what’s in common with all of these celebrities? It is debatable that the numerous vulgar curse words just tally up between all of these stars, but the core of it goes toward the admiration of something that we, as the public, don’t understand. The uncertainty that lies in between Lady Gaga or Charlie Sheen is something that we may never understand, but we’re willing to watch with eyes peeled to figure it out. Celebrities continue to top each other in stunts, actions and mere ideals that prime entertainment is handed to us on a silver platter. All I can wonder now is who will be the next star to step into the spotlight and awe the audience once again.

Charlie Sheen’s Home Raided

The Charlie Sheen crazy train just keeps rolling. Last night, LAPD raided Sheen’s home. According to TMZ, police responded to a call they received that Sheen was threatening to turn a gun upon himself.

RadarOnline.com reported, Sheen is not allowed to possess any guns due to the temporary restraining order filed against him by Brooke Mueller. A spokesperson stated, “It came to the attention of the LAPD that Sheen is a registered owner of firearms. LAPD is conducting an investigation to determine if Mr. Sheen is in possession of firearms or ammunition that would violate terms of the TRO.”

An LAPD officer told Radar, “Mr. Sheen was very cooperative, and he is at home. He is not being arrested. The LAPD has completed their investigation. They will not be releasing their findings.”

Jon Cryer Responds to Charlie Sheen

This week Charlie Sheen continued to rant about the so called “trolls” he used to work, but decided to add one more to the bunch. Sheen’s co-star, Jon Cryer was referred to as a troll as well. After initial silence, Cryer responded to Sheen’s remarks on the Conan show.

Cryer stated, “Those words were really painful to me, for many reasons,” he said of Sheen’s comments. “Not the least of which is…um…I’m sorry, this is really hard for me. I can’t even believe I’m saying this. The fact is, I AM a troll.”

Jon continued to poke fun at himself saying,  “It’s not something I like to talk about,” he joked. “My parents don’t even know.”

Looks like throughout this whole Sheen ordeal, Cryer has still been able to keep his sense of humor. Keep it up Jon!
