Star Wars Themed Funeral Fulfills A Four-Year Olds Final Wish

(PCM) Jack Robinson, the 4-year old who tragically lost his battle with an inoperable brain tumor, had his final wish granted in the form of a Star Wars themed funeral.

His family and friends gathered together to make his final wish a reality, as his body was carried in a Star Wars coffin by horse drawn carriage flanked on all side by storm troopers and the word “Jedi” spelled out in a gorgeous floral arrangement on the side. Other floral arrangement included a light saber, and replicas of R2D2 and Yoda.

Inside the church the brass band played Luke Skywalker’s theme and the program read “Master Jack Robinson, joined the force 1st April 2014.

Darkness Invades Riverdale! Beloved Comic Icon Archie To Die Heroically

(PCM) Comic book icon Riverdale’s Archie Andrews will be killed off in an upcoming issue of “Life With Archie” set for release on July 16th.

Archie Comics CEO John Goldwater revealed that Archie will die a violent, but ultimately incredibly heroic death in the series. He also claims that Archie death will result in an  “emotional, impactful and classic story that I know will survive the test of time.”

The “Life With Archie” comic series follows Archie and his gang of friends in Riverdale as they navigate through their adult lives. For half of each comic book Archie is married and settled down with Veronica and the other half of the comic features what his life would be like if he had settled down with Betty instead. Archie will die in both versions of the comic and the upcoming issue will be the last for that particular series.

WBC Founder Fred Phelps Passes Away

fred(PCM) Fred Phelps, who founded the Westboro Baptist Church, died late Wednesday evening, March 19, 2014.

While reports were rampant this week that he was at death’s door, along with rumors that he had been kicked out of his own church, we last heard official word that was having some health issues last Sunday: “I can tell you that Fred Phelps is having some health problems,” WBC spokesman Steve Drain told the Lawrence Journal-World. “He’s an old man, and old people get health problems.”

Nate Phelps, one of Fred Phelps’ estranged children, wrote a Facebook post on March 15 saying his father was “on the edge of death at Midland Hospice house in Topeka, Kansas.”

Technical Specialist Still Alive After Olympic Rings Fiasco

(PCM) The man responsible for operating the Olympic Rings during last night’s Winter Olympic Opening Ceremonies in Russia,T. Borris Avdeyev, is still alive, contrary to online reports.

Several websites (and Facebook rumors) said that the body of T. Borris Avdeyev was found his hotel room early this morning with multiple stab wounds. He wasn’t. He’s alive.

Avdeyev was a technical specialist responsible for the Olympic Ring spectacle, which embarrassingly malfunctioned last night. Five animatronic snowflakes were supposed to transform into Olympic Rings. The first four functioned properly but the fifth snowflake failed to change shape.

Eric Lawson AKA The Marlboro Man Has Died At Age 72

Marlboro-Man1(PCM) Actor Eric Lawson, who is best known for his portrayal of the Marlboro Man in the cigarette brands’ ad campaigns in the late 70′s, has passed away at the age of 72.

Lawson’s cause of death was respiratory failure due to COPD, which is a smoking related illness. He died at home and is survived by his wife Susan Lawson, six children, eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Lawson was hired by Marlboro to portray the rugged Marlboro Man in ads that ran from 1978 to 1981. He has done some film and TV work with notable roles in “Dynasty”, “Baywatch” and “Charlie’s Angels”.  He sustained injuries on the set of a Western film in 1997 which then ended his acting career.
