Hemsworth is in pretty good (and good-looking) company; also making an appearance on People’s Sexiest Man Alive list are Guardians of Galaxy‘s Chris Pratt, Fifty Shades of Grey‘s Jamie Dornan, Michael Strahan, and Matt Bomer.
In 2013, Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine made it on the cover of People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue, and the year before that Channing Tatum was crowned with the title.
Making a new for himself in his homeland of Australia for his role as Kim Hyde on the soap series, Home and Away, Chris Hemsworth has found steadfast fans in America after playing Thor in Marvel’s Thor and The Avengers.
Back in 2013, Chris Hemsworth ranked number 7 on Glamour magazine’s 2013 list of “50 Sexiest Men,” coming in 3 places behind his younger brother, Liam Hemsworth.
Now, the actor jokes about his status as “Sexiest Man Alive,” telling People magazine, “I think you’ve bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house, I can just say to [wife Elsa Pataky], ‘Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don’t need to do the dishes anymore, I don’t need to change nappies. I’m above that. I’ve made it now.’ ”

I think we can all agree that Chris Hemsworth has “made it;” Marvel’s Thor, The Avengers, and Thor: The Dark World, all were huge box office hits and grossed over $2.6 billion worldwide.
Hemsworth is currently filming John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein’s National Lampoon’s Vacation reboot, Vacation, also starring Leslie Mann, Charlie Day, Christina Applegate, and Chevy Chase, and is in pre-production for Frank Darabont’s The Huntsman.
Hemsworth will also star in Michael Mann’s action-drama Blackhat, in theaters January 16, 2015, Ron Howard’s action-adventure In the Heart of the Sea, set to open March 13, 2015, Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, in theaters May 1, 2015, and Thor: Ragnarok, in theaters July 28, 2017.
It’s also of note that Chris Hemsworth has been rumored to star in DC Entertainment’s Doc Savage, written and directed by Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) along with co-writers Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry.
