Selena Gomez Adds ‘Executive Producer’ to Her Resume

Selena Gomez is moving up in the world, fast. The Spring Breakers actress will be returning to the Disney Channel, taking the reins as executive producer on a special episode of “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

Hollyscoop has obtained a sneak peek of Selena’s interview with Ernie D on Radio Disney in which she talks about the new challenge. “I’m not ready for it [‘Wizards’] to be over, so I just kind of want to do one more thing,” she says.

The idea to reboot “Wizards” series after a four-season run came to light after a strong effort from Selena herself, thus earning her the EP credit…

New Cocaine Inspired Liqueur

Beverage company Babco Europe created a new liqueur with a curious choice of ingredients. Coca Blue, a new blue alcoholic drink contains coca leaf, the raw substance that is used to make cocaine.

The drink will not be released in the UK until November and is being marketed to coincide with the end of the Mayan calender on December 21, 2012, which some conspiracy theorists believe will be the end of the world. Sounds like a cheerful drink.

While liqueur might be a new territory for the coco leaves, they have been used to make other types of drinks for centuries. For example, many indigenous Andean people use the tea leaves for medicinal purposes to help alleviate tourists of altitude sickness. The taste of the leaves is slightly bitter and is said to be similar to the flavor of green tea.

To make Coca Blue, the leaves are picked out in the Andes and then shipped to Amsterdam where they undergo several processes to remove the active ingredient found in cocaine. So no worries, if you choose to indulge in this drink you will not be consuming any hard drugs.

Only about 100 cases will go on the market in the UK costing around $450 each. To keep with the end of times theme, there will be a global apocalypse-themed party circuit including cities like Las Vegas, London, Amsterdam, Seoul, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Auckland and Sydney so drinkers can party like it’s the end of the world.

JWoww is Officially Off the Market!

Jenni “JWoww” Farley is engaged! Yup, she is marrying her boyfriend of two years, Roger Matthews.

As you might remember from the show, JWoww reunited with Roger while filming a season of MTV’s Jersey Shore. At the time when they met, she was still dating ex-boyfriend Tom Lippolis. However, their relationship was going south and the way she felt about Roger showed her she needed to be single. I guess it was love at first site.

Now instead of rocking in a club, she is rocking a 5 carat ring. Not only that, but it is surrounded by 2.5 pink and white carats.

Apparently he popped the question during a recent skydiving session, how daring!

What did her cast mate Snooki have to tweet after hearing the big news? “CONGRATS on the engagement boo! Love you so much.”

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage. I feel this is a much better motto for the new MTV show Snooki and JWoww. They have been making some huge life changes this past year, and I am so happy I get to sit back and watch.

PCM gives JWoww and Roger a major fist pump on their new engagement. Good luck!!!!!

Big Changes For Elmo Down on Sesame Street

After 42 seasons with minimal changes to the shows format, “Sesame Street” will be changing up Elmo’s usual routine.

The fuzzy red puppet’s “Elmo’s World” segment that viewers have watched for 13 years is being phased out for a new segment, “Elmo the Musical.” Ten 11-minute skits have been prepared. Sounds like Elmo is hopping on the Glee train!

Senior vice president of education and research at Sesame Workshop Rosemarie Truglio told the Huffington Post that the new skit will emphasize concepts in science, technology, engineering, and math using music as a learning tool. The new segment will be directed largely at pre-school aged children rather than the current Elmo who is geared more toward 2-year-olds.

“With really young children, the arts are very relevant to their lives,” Truglio said. “We want to be able to use the arts as a tool.”

The new and apparently more mature Elmo will used singing and dancing to bring attention to problem-solving skills and will be featured in several different performances including “Sea Captain the Musical,” “Mountain Climber the Musical” and “President the Musical.”

Along with the revved up Elmo segment, “Sesame Street” will be bringing on a usual series of celebrity guests including Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Melissa McCarthy, Steve Carell, John Hamm, Zac Effron, Blake Griffin, the rock band Train and rapper Common.
