StarKid Productions took over the internet in 2009 and 2010 with A Very Potter Musical; a fan-made parody that premiered on YouTube in July of 2009 and immediately went viral. AVPM quickly garnered over 1.8 million views, receiving press in Entertainment Weekly, among other publications.
StarKid’s second production, Me and My Dick, blasted it’s way onto the Billboard Charts in March of 2010, landing at #11 for Original Cast Recording within the first week of it’s release on iTunes, and grabbed notice from Perez Hilton and Billboard.com.
In May of 2010, over 4,000 ticket requests for 400 available seats came in for StarKid’s newest show, A Very Potter Sequel. It premiered onstage in Ann Arbor, MI to packed houses with fans lining up hours before each show. Fans flew from all across the country to be present for the much-anticipated sequel to the Cinderella success that was A Very Potter Musical.
Now, StarKid Productions as over 39 Million views on YouTube, covering three fully produced musicals.
