Leslie Nielsen Dies at 84-Years-Old

Canadian-born actor Leslie Nielsen died at the age of 84 on Sunday after suffering from pneumonia. This beloved comedian and icon has appeared in over 100 films, 1,500 television programs and portrayed over 200 characters.

One of the turning points in his career was his role as Dr. Rumack in the 1980 comedy Airplane! In this film, he delivered one of his famous lines. Dr. Rumack says to Ted Striker, “can you fly this plane and land it?” And Striker replies, “surely you can’t be serious.” Dr. Rumack interjects, “I am serious, and don’t call me Shirley!”

Then there was his famous part in The Naked Gun series as Lt. Frank Drebin, where he proved that one his best talents was delivering witty responses. In one scene, Quentin Hapsburg asks, “Que sera sera… You do speak French, don’t you?” Lt. Frank Drebin replies, “unfortunately no, but I do kiss that way.”

In case you have not had the pleasure of watching any of Nielsen’s contributions to Hollywood, catch this tribute below.

Mercury Retrograde: A Primer

Yesterday, my TV, phone, and Internet crapped the bed for almost 6 hours after a random, freak accident happened outside my home, which knocked out the box. The other day, while shooting the Lloyd Banks concert, my cell phone — fully charged — died. I’ve been arguing with my mom, the fax machine at work randomly turns on & off, and all forms of communication seem to be going haywire.

What? You thought it was just you?

Nein, fraulein! Mercury Retrograde is here!

Find Your Fate has more information:

“A planet is described to be in retrograde when it appears to be moving backwards through the zodiac. Actually this is an illusory planetary motion created by the orbital rotation of the earth with relation to other planets in the solar system. Planets are never actually retrograde or stationary, they just seem that way due to this cosmic shadow-play.

The planet Mercury rules thinking and perception and all types of communication. When Mercury goes retrograde it gives rise to personal misunderstandings. There would be delays, flaws and hitches in all communication related areas like transportation, trade, etc. Astrologers advise not to make any important decisions while Mercury is retrograde, since it is likely that such decisions will be marred by misinformation, poor communication and careless thinking.”

The bad news is, this Retrograde period is the longest one in, perhaps, recorded history:  the “Shadow” period (sort f like the “pre-game” period of MercRetro) began on November 22nd…and this is due to continue until December 30th.
