The weekend paid off for all things Paranormal. For the second year in a row, Paramount’s highly popular Paranormal Activity franchise ruled the box office during its opening weekend.  Paranormal Activity 2 opened to $41.5 Million this weekend, marking yet another hugely success for the series.  The first Paranormal Activity cost only $15,000 to make and went on to gross $193 Million worldwide.  The sequel only cost $3 Million and although it hasn’t meet those expectations just yet, the movie is certainly poised to. The movie opened to $20 Million on Friday alone (counting midnights) and bottomed out over the remaining two days.  Last weekend, Jackass 3D opened to $20…Read more

Glee is the show of the moment.  It’s stars are currently surrounded by controversy due to a scandalous GQ photoshoot, and the show has become a cultural phenomenon (both in terms of TV and music). Not choosing sides, here are some of the best (worst?) commercials for the upcoming mid-term elections. “Call Me Senator” by David Zucker, a self-described ’9/12 Republican,’ produced this commercial mocking ‘Senator’ Barbara Boxer. He was the director of the 1980 comedy classic “Airplane!” and has worked on other successful features including the “Naked Gun” and “Scary Movie” franchises. He directed spot for Right Change, a 527 and 501(c)4 organization. “Call Me Senator!” In this actual commercial, Delaware’s Christine O’Donnell tell us that she is not a witch… She’s you! West Virginia’s Democratic Governor Joe Manchin is apparently running as a right wing Republican. Send us links to your favorite political ads…Read more
