Ricky Martin Comes Out
Ricky Martin has faced a lot of questions over the years about his sexual orientation. He has recently posted a lengthy note on his official Web site, which indicates he is not straight.
“I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man,” writes Martin. “I am very blessed to be who I am.”
Martin, who has twin sons through a surrogate mother, writes that hiding his sexuality any longer would “indirectly diminish the glow that my kids here born with.”
He further addresses the reasoning behind the late news, “these years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn’t even know existed.”
Good for him. Anyway, do you guys have an email address for news tips, etc.?
Is anybody actually surprised? He should have come out when he was popular, everyone was calling him gay anyways. It almost seems like a stunt to get back in the spotlight. Of course, it could be that he was just not emotionally ready to reveal what everyone already knew.
